So it is the final blog of Intro to Psychology 2018!!! I have had so much fun in this class learning about psychology and all of the basics behind me. TO be honest I was not very excited that I was required to take this class, little did I know how much I would learn and take from it. Also, fun fact, I am now picking up a minor in psychology (; This class has helped me grow not only in my education and the way I learn but also as a person so here is some information about the highlights of what I learned and did throughout this semester! Week 1 and 2-Getting to know me We created our first blog about ourselves and discovering ourselves. I had never written a blog before so this being introduced to us was very cool and interesting to learn about. For this task blog I did the three good things. At the end of each day for a week I wrote down three good things that happened to me and explained why they made me feel good or brought me happiness. I'll add some pictures to show what I did throughout the week and highlight some of the best parts of the week!! Spurs auditions!! DAY 1:   April 21, 2018 1. Spurs auditions-we held auditions for dance team and I got to dance all morning and meet my new spur babies that will be joining us in the fall. 2. Dinner- I went to dinner with my boyfriend's parents, they're super sweet and I am really glad I got to spend time with them. 3. Anxiety is a mental disorder characterized by feelings of worry, anxiety, or fear that are strong enough to interfere with ones daily activities. Anxiety disorders are real, serious medical conditions-just as real and serious as physical disorders such as heart disease and diabetes. Anxiety disorders are the most common disorders in the United States and affect over 44 million American adults. I interviewed one of my roommates along with my mom about their anxiety disorders and how it affects their everyday lives. Growing up, my mom had always struggled with anxiety but as a child I was not really sure what that entailed. She has what is called generalized anxiety disorder or GAD. GAD is characterized by persistent and excessive worry about a number of different things. People with this disorder often anticipate disaster and may be overly concerned about family, money, health, work or other issues.
